Shooting Stars Policies

When Can I Start? You can start at any time! We run tuition on a month-to-month basis. Some months will have 3, 4 or 5 classes, your tuition will not go up or down based on the number of classes during the month.

Payment Due Dates: Your annual membership fee is due at the time of registration. We require a card to be on file for all members. Your card will be automatically charged on the 1st of every month for that month's tuition. When your card on file is charged for monthly tuition, you will be responsible for paying the convenience fee ($.30 + 3.8%). You may pay the following month's tuition via check or cash prior to the 25th of the month.

Drop Notification (Applies to requests to withdraw from class before end of Session): Withdrawal requests must be received by the 25th of the month for the following month. (Example: Withdraw request received October 25th to be removed from classes in November.) All drop requests must have a completed DROP REQUEST FORM handed in to the front office. Drop Request Forms can be picked up at the front desk during gym hours or you can email us at [email protected] for an electronic version. If you do not follow these drop procedures you will be held responsible for all outstanding invoices. Until we receive your drop request we will be holding that spot for your student.

If you drop prior to the start of a session that you previously registered for, you will receive a refund minus a $15 administration fee.

Cancelled Classes  There may be times that we need to cancel classes, but we will only do so if we have no other options. Possible reasons to cancel may be for instructor unavailability, inclement weather, or facility problems. When we cancel classes our primary means of communication will be via email and our FaceBook Page. It is important that your contact information is correct in your Parent Account, as that is the source we use for contacting you. We will provide one Open Gym Pass for any cancelled classes.

Makeup Policy  If your child is absent from class you are eligible to receive one Open Gym Pass per month. The Open Gym Pass must be used in the Session in which the absence occured. Academic Session is September - May, Summer Session is June - August. Must be enrolled in class when pass is redeemed.

We do not give credits or refunds if individual students are going to be absent from class. We are still holding that spot for your child in the class. If you are planning an extended absence, it is your choice if you’d like to drop the class and try to re-enroll at a later point. We will not save spaces once you have dropped.

If you are more than 15 minutes late, please schedule a make-up and do not attend class as it is a safety hazard for gymnasts to participate without warming up with their class.

Regular attendance will greatly help your child. Attendance will be considered when placing students into the higher levels. If you are going to be absent for a while it will be helpful if the instructor knows.

Achieve Sleeves  All gymnasts (excluding Twinklers, Boy's Beginner and Boy's Intermediate) are required to purchase the class achieve sleeve. Gymnasts will receive badges for executing skills required for their class level. The sleeves also serve to track your child's progress in their level. A new sleeve is required to be purchased when moving up to a new level. You can purchase them at the front desk for $13.

What to Wear or Bring  Please wear clothes that will not inhibit movement. Gymnasts will not wear shoes or socks. Hair should be pulled back from face and students should bring a bottle of water labeled with their name. For safety purposes, all jewelry must be removed before coming to class. Jeans are not appropriate for class. Attire that covers the stomach is required (no dance sports bras or crop tops are permitted). Male gymnasts should wear shorts or athletic pants with a tucked-in shirt.

Can I Stay or Should I Go?  Twinklers is a parent participation class which requires 1 adult to be on the floor with the enrolled child. For all other classes, you are welcome to leave the gym or stay and watch. If you chose to stay, please do not disturb the class from the viewing area. If you chose to leave during your child's class please make sure that you are back to pick them up. Children are encouraged to wait inside of our building for their ride to come in and get them. Shooting Stars is not responsible for children that are left unaccompanied outside of our facility. Our instructional classes are not custodial care and shouldn’t be considered child care. Please do not have students arrive more than 10 minutes before their class.

Communicating with Instructors  Often our instructors are scheduled for a set of back-to-back classes. This might mean that there isn’t a time to talk to the instructor before or after class. Please be respectful of the instructor’s time and realize that they may not have time to talk without disrupting another class. If you need to discuss anything with the instructor our office can facilitate.

Additional Questions  If you have additional questions please call us at the gym, 763-595-1570 or email us at [email protected]. If we are teaching and unable to answer the phone, please leave your phone number and we will return your call as soon as possible.
